What We Believe

Mission Statement

"Reaching out, challenging youth, changing lives through Jesus Christ"

Mission Overview

Five Pines Ministries exists to provide our guests, especially youth, with the experience of the abundant life

through experiential education, discipleship, evangelistic outreach opportunities, and Christian hospitality.

Christian Camp and Conference Association defines the purpose of Christian camping as, “An experience within a temporary community using the outdoor setting and trained leaders to meet spiritual objectives.” As an organization, we desire to impact lives through spiritual experiences for our community and beyond, by providing quality programming and a nurturing environment for children, youth, and families. Our passion is to have a place and programs that communicate clearly the gospel of Jesus Christ, create opportunities for spiritual refreshment in order to know Christ in a more intimate relationship, and challenge those who enter our gates with the adventure of living beyond themselves.

Two words sum it up . . . Kingdom Building.

Core Values

God's Word - We have a passion to share Christ, equip believers and live our lives according to the Biblical principles. "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." John 10:10b

Prayer - We are called to be a people of prayer, intimately seeking God's heart. "This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it - the LORD is his name; Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jeremiah 33: 2-3

Accountability- We are committed to regularly evaluating all aspects of our ministry to maintain an environment of responsibility. "Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you." Hebrews 13:17

Christ-like character - We strive to exhibit the characteristics of Christ. "Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4

Community - We desire to build an environment that connects people to our mission. "So we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." Romans 12:5

Servanthood - We endeavor to serve with love through Christian hospitality. "But Jesus called them to Himself and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.'" Matthew 20:25-28

Stewardship - We are dedicated to responsibly manage the Lord's resources. "The one who had received five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, 'Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.' His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.'" Matthew 25:20-21

Excellence - We are committed to accomplish our mission with excellence using innovative and compelling approaches. "Now as you excel in everything - in faith, in utterance, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in your love for us - see that you excel in this gracious work also." 2 Corinthians 8:7

  • To challenge people to develop a meaningful relationship with each other

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. (Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 3:16-17; John 1:1-3)
  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is true God and true man, one person in two natures. As true God, He has always existed and was never created.  As true Man, He was  born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died by crucifixion, but rose bodily from the dead and ascended unto God the Father.  We believe in His imminent, personal return in power and glory.  (John 1:18; Matthew 1:23; 27:29-50; 28:1-10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
  • We believe all people are born sinners and are in need of salvation. Our human nature is corrupted, and people cannot live a sinless live. (Romans 3:23; 6:23)
  • We believe God has provided salvation through the crucifixion and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ; that Jesus Christ voluntarily atoned for all the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. By His grace He offers this salvation to all. Salvation is received through faith plus nothing, including observance of a specific day of worship. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:22)
  • We hold that those who believe in Jesus' death for sin and His resurrection from death do not come into judgement, but pass for death to life.  Believers in Jesus are not judged, because He took God's judgement for sin in their place. Those who do not believe are judged already. (John 5:24; John 3:18)
  • We believe it is the responsibility of every saved person, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, to strive for holiness and to glorify God in personal conduct. (1 Peter 1:15)
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. (Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19-20)
