Adventure Camp

Week8Trees109 516x800IMG 6829Adventure camps give kids a unique and rewarding adventure experience designed to help them grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord. Campers are challenged by adventure activities, discover lasting friendships, and encounter God through inspiring praise, worship, and dynamic discipleship development.

ADVENTURE CAMP:  5th and 6th grade campers come to experience, for the first time, our adventure activities. They develop skills by learning basic climbing techniques, fundamentals of canoeing, introduction to compound bows, and enhanced swimming techniques. Adventure camp is a balanced program with an emphasis on the spiritual theme in most activities, including interactive Bible lessons, drama, campfire with praise and worship time, small group discussions, and one-on-one counselor-camper time.

ADVENTURE CAMP AND BIBLE THEMES
Adventure and High Adventure Camp themes rotate through a four year cycle:

2019, 2023, 2027DSC 0336 800x532

"Army of the One" military theme derives from putting on the armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18.  Camp is transformed into an army base and the illustration of the roman soldier is updated to the modern soldier.  In Bible, campers learn about our enemy, how to gear up for battle, rely on our training, and be a good soldier.

2016, 2020, 2024

"Run the Race" is an olympic theme based on Hebrews 12:1-2a. Paul's metaphor of a runner in a race symoblizing the Christian life is used. During Bible campers learn the discipline of training and endurance, identifying obstacles in our way, the importance of running with others (fellowship of believers), and finishing strong - living a life for God. They are challenged to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith.

2017, 2021, 2025

"Chart Your Course" is based on Psalm 119:33-37 and the Ten Commandments.  Lessons focus on navigating through each of the commandments and how Jesus come not to abolish them, but to fulfull them. We study the Ten Commandments because in today's culture we need to be reminded of the timeless truth from God's heart. While we teach the importance of the sabbath day, we do not single out a specific day of the week.

2018, 2022, 2026

"Soaring High" is based on Isaiah 40:28-31, encouraging campers to soar on wings like eagles. Campers learn to understand a Christian worldview, as we teach them how to defend their faith through Creation. We explore aspects of God's character through His omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence.
