Tubing - Public Hours - Saturdays 11:00 - 5:00; Sundays 1:00 - 5:30

Tubing Hill: Good base on the hill. We will be open Saturday, January 20, 11:00 to 5:00. Sunday's status will be determined Sunday morning.

Now open on Saturdays and Sundays. Groups at other times by reservation.

 

Ski Trails: Trails will PROBABLY be open Saturday, but not beyond that until new snow arrives.

campbrainWe are very excited about our online registration for our summer camps, utilizing the software of CAMPBRAIN. The system is one of the foremost comprehensive camp software and online registration packages for camps and conference/retreat centers in the marketplace. Features include: superior registration structure that enables unlimited camps, sessions and options; flexible pricing options (e.g. tiered, early bird, discount codes); automated item charges and discounts, enabling parents to register multiple children simultaneously in a simple, intuitive interface; put any and all forms online (e.g. medical, camper info, waivers, transportation) so parents see only the forms they need to complete based on the camps/sessions they choose; and complete history built in, to name more than a few.

We are editing the site now for 2018 Summer Camp. It should be open for registration by the end of January.

TubeTastic 176On Saturday, December 20th, Five Pines Ministries launches their winter program by hosting the annual opening day on the tubing hill. The 400-foot “Thrill of the Hill” features five exciting and heart-pounding runs for kids and adults of all ages.For over 20 years, Five Pines has provided a fun, safe atmosphere that gives families an affordable opportunity to enjoy the winter season together for both tubing and cross-country skiing. This year’s season begins with the official Opening Day on Saturday, December 20th and ends, as usual, the last weekend in February.                             

Five Pines has 100 nylon-covered, plastic-bottomed tubes as well as 11 double tubes which are all a part of the price of admission. For cross-country skiing, they host one mile of groomed trails with a mix of hills, woods, and open fields, creating a scenic experience for both beginner and experienced skiers. Skiing fee includes ski rental, boots and poles.  

“Most people do not know that we have a snowmaker that helps keep snow on the hill and supplements natural snow. We use it to build our base when there is no snow, improve the reliability of snow coverage and to extend our season,” said Michael Holets, Executive Director. “We make snow when the conditions are right, 26 degrees or lower, and especially during the early part of the season.” Five Pines’ snowmaking system includes a 12 foot snow gun with sled, a 10,000-gallon water tank, air compressor, and diesel engine to power the water pump.

When it’s time to get out of the cold, guests can enjoy the 150-year-old barn, the Harv Chrouser Activity Center. The center has a wood stove, snack shop with reasonable prices on food and drink, general store, and plenty of tables with chairs. Also, families can play board games or explore the two game lofts which offer free pool, bumper pool, foosball, ping pong, and air hockey. New this year, the Activity Center and grounds have been upgraded with improved wireless internet services promising more connections and faster service.

Individual prices are: Tubing - $8 (age 6 and older) and Skiing - $7 (age 6 and older), with free tubing for children 5 and under, accompanied by an adult, and $3.00 for skiing. Season passes for tubing and cross-country skiing are available for $25 per person, but the passes can be purchased on opening day for just $18 each. Also, there is a maximum daily rate of $35 for immediate family tubing and $50.00 for both tubing and skiing. Night tubing is available for groups of 25 or more by reservation only. There are also weekend rates for organizational groups of 15 or more by reservation only.  

HOLIDAY PUBLIC HOURS are December 20th through January 4th, open Monday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

WEEKEND PUBLIC HOURS are every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and every Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. through the end of February.
